portable version Liquiport 2010 CSP44 will
revolutionize the world of sampling. They not
only fulfil all the international standards and

Honeywell recently announced
that it
has been selected by Edda Trykk, the
second largest publisher in Norway, to
upgrade its Printa press control and shaft-
less drive systems at the company’s news-
paper printing facility in Stokke, Norway.
Honeywell will provide new commercial
input/output modules, bring the safety
system in line with current standards and
increase redundancy in the drive system.
Edda Trykk is owned by Amedia AS, which
was formed in 2012 through a merger
between A-pressen and Edda Media. The
company publishes 78 print titles in various
countries including Norway and Russia.
“By replacing obsolete components,
Honeywell will help our Stokke site con-
tinue printing newspapers on the existing
presses into the 2020s,” said Nils Morten
Vestskogen, plant manager, Edda Trykk.
“A key benefit is that the upgrades can be
achieved without disrupting production by
making changes gradually, part by part.”
As part of the scope of work, the exist-
ing Bitbus I/O’s will be changed to com-
mercial Profibus I/O’s, the controllers of
the towers and folders will be upgraded

The sampling programs provide
maximum flexibility and cater to all require-
ments, starting at the ‘Basic’ program
with just 5 inputs and ranging up to the
‘Standard’ and ‘’Advanced’ programs where
up to 24 sub-programs can be linked to
each other.
No overly heavy bottles and the unique
split bottle tray design makes the sample
transport to the laboratory a lot easier.
When it comes to portability, the Liquiport
2010 CSP44 scores high points. Both sam-
plers are powered by low voltage 24 VDC
guaranteeing that there is no hazardous
voltage inside the housing.
The modular sampler housing has two
separately lockable doors and is designed
with no screws on the outside. Once
locked, the samples are stored securely.
The innovative power supply and cooling
system ensure that the samples are not
exposed to any fluctuations in temperature
that will change the composition.
application. Furthermore, they are based on
the new Liquiline-Memosens platform and
can therefore be used as complete measur-
ing stations.

CSP44 are more than just samplers. When
they are equipped with Memosens technol-
ogy sensors, they turn into a complete
system solution for modern environmental
monitoring. They provide online measure-
ment of six different parameters including
plug&play of the sensors. They also offer
event-controlled sampling. If, for example, a
pH sensor is connected to the sampler and
the pH value exceeds a certain limit, this
event can trigger the sampling.
The new samplers feature the
same clear operation concept as all
devices of the Liquiline-Memosens
platform. The menu depth has been
kept to a minimum to allow fast
navigation, and the large graphi-
cal display guides the user
through the software with its 9
lines, each 45 characters long.
to Honeywell Field Controller, the safety
system will be modernized to comply with
current standards and the shaftless drive
system modernized from an optical Sercos
II to an Ethernet-based Sercos III network
with new drives and motors. Redundancy
will be added by separating the tower pairs’
drive networks, thereby reducing the risk of
drive failures.
“The printing industry is facing difficult
times, with newspaper circulations decreas-
ing year over year as digital consumption
increases,” said Marko Jämsen, business
leader, Pulp, Paper and Printing, Honey-
well Process Solutions. “By using Honey-
well, Edda Trykk has taken the prudent
step of selecting a phased approach of
upgrading its press control system, pro-
tecting its existing assets and allowing the
company to maintain performance into
the future.”
