PROJECTS AND CONTRACTS
Known as the ONE FNB building, the ground breaking event
marks the beginning of construction after FNB funded phase
one of the Second Avenue Development project. The new
7 710 m² headquarters will house all FNB and WesBank business units
in Bloemfontein, adding a striking feature to the city’s skyline.
“We are delighted to start the development of our new regional
offices which will enable us to better position FNB for future growth.
Bloemfontein plays a significant role for FNB and the bank is equally
committed to being one of the economic catalysts in the city and the
province, by enabling economic growth as well as job creation,” said
Wayne Kriel, FNB business regional head: Free State.
FNB’s commitment to the city was lauded by the Executive Mayor
of the Mangaung Metro Municipality, Honourable, Thabo Manyoni.
“We have committed to partnering with the private sector in order to
fast track infrastructure development and also to contribute towards
social upliftment. Mangaung is one of the key economic hubs in
South Africa and this investment further attests to the potential and
opportunity presented by the city.”
Designed by Bomax Architects the ONE FNB building will further
entrench the brand’s distinct identity in the Free State Province. The
building will be equipped with contemporary design elements and
‘green’ eco-friendly features that maximise natural light.
“The partnership which made this project possible symbolises the
value that FNB places in partnering with our clients. We are excited
to be at the forefront of efforts to stimulate economic growth in
Bloemfontein and the Free State Province at large,” concluded Kriel.
