is a member of the Institute for Work at Height (IWH), Institute for Work at Height Professional
Body (IWHPB), the Contractors Plant Hire Association (CPHA) and partakes actively in the
South African National standards (SANS) TC 214 Work at height Committee.
It complies to the manufacturer’s recommended service plan and ensures that its machines are
load-tested once a year, as per South African legislation, ensuring machines are in excellent
and safe working condition.
Training
Training is taken extremely seriously and implemented by registered, qualified and licensed
demonstrators who conduct handover and familiarisation for every MEWP rented out.
Where the customer requires competent operators, Sterling Plant Hire advises them to use
experts at the MEWP Training Academy (
) who are registered and accredited
by the IWHPB and Services Seta.

recommend that our customers talk to the relevant associations and professional bodies.
The endorsement by these organisations for certificates and licenses only takes place if the
training provider meets the grade and conforms to the constitution.“
