LEGRAND’S range of Osmoz control and
signalling units, which are RoHS (Restriction of
Hazardous Substances) compliant, has been
re-designed for quick installation, easy operation,
reliable performance and enhanced safety.
“These robust control and signalling units
have new style heads with an anti-rotation tab
and improved impact resistance,”says Luk Ivens,
general manager, Legrand Southern Africa.“The
versatility of these robust units offers a number
of functions that provide a reliable link between
the operator and equipment.”
Head options include spring return illuminated
and non-illuminated push-buttons, selector
switches, key operated heads, emergency stop/
start pushmushroomheads and indicator light
heads. Included in this range are various types of
rotary switches with a key and lever handle.
All heads on a device are mounted indepen-
dently of an electrical body which are then
effortlessly fixed onto the body with a swift,
single click twist-on action. A locking ring on the
head ensures perfect alignment for all assembly
functions. These new ergonomically designed
devices have an anti- rotation notch on the body
and a reduced head height.
The new dustproof design and shape of the
devices ensures improved cleaning ability. These
units, which are manufactured from a self-ex-
tinguishing synthetic resin to provide a sophis-
ticated finish, offer
high performance
electrical character-
istics, guaranteed
insulation and fire
resistant qualities.
Engraved labels can
be attached to the label
holder at any time, even
after assembly, which
means that identification is
easilymodifiedwithout the
need to dismantle equip-
ment.The type of contact
is easily identified for
enhanced safety.
A comprehensive range
of connection options of the
control and indication blocks com-
pletes these versatile units.
The newOsmoz range conforms to stringent
international quality and safety specifications.

distribution boards, switches, sockets and protection
NK Technologies of the USA has released the ATS
series of current sensors, combining a current
operated switch and a current transducer into a
single package for use in ac applications up to
1 200A. The large sensing window (46mm) pro-
vides complete isolation between the primary
circuit and the controls. The DIN rail mounting
makes installation easy and provides a secure
mounting resistant to conductor movement.
Features:
• The transducer produces an analogue output
at all times to detect increases or decreases in
current.
• Provides a limit alarmcontact for over or under
current conditions.
• Extra-large aperture allows for single or multi-
ple conductor passage.

Control and signalling units designed for reliability
RIKEN SA has announced the introduction
of four additional models of the ‘A’ range of
contactors – namely the RAB-A45, RAB-A60,
RAB-A70and RAB-A80 – to complement the
existing models RAB-A15, RAB-A18,RAB-A25 and
RAB-A35 , which were introduced in 2011.
“These models have a more ‘modern’ appear-
ance and offer the advantage of having only two
coil sizes needed for the complete range,” says
Hartley Greger, managing member of Riken SA.
“The coils will be available in ‘ac’ only and range
from 12V to 550V.
The advantage of this feature will be the re-
duction in stock holdings for stockists and easier
control of spare coils for consumers,” explains
Greger.
New additions to contactor range
“Although Riken SA will be promoting the
new ‘A’ range of contactors, the company
will continue to supply contactors and
spares for the ‘T’ range as we appreciate that
many consumers are still using the older
range in various applications,” says Greger.
He adds that Riken has always concentrat-
ed on manufacturing high quality products
for local and international markets and is an
ISO-9001: 2000 quality management system
approved company and the products carry
the approval of UL , CSA , VDE , CNS and CE
test authorities. South African approvals are
available on
.

• Allows instantaneous monitoring of current
when connected to a suitable panel meter.
• Patented rotary switch set-point selection ena-
bles the transducer tobeeasily set up in the field.
• Trip point is clearly shown on the labelling.
• A 4-20mA analogue signal proportional to 0-1
200A ac is available at all times.
• Component count is reduced by combining
the transducer and limit alarm in one package.
• Analogue signal self-powered from the unit, no
additional power supply is required.
• LED indication is provided if power is removed
from the sensor or the primary current exceeds
the adjustable trip set point.
• Field adjustable time delay from 0.5 to 12 sec-
onds.
