Normet Africa will be introducing its revolutionary new rock bolt,
the D-Bolt, at bauma Africa. Seen here is the inventor of the bolt,
Professor Charles C Li.
Industrial sector companies Hytec, Power Team, Hytec Fluid Tech-
nology, Hydraulic & Automation Warehouse, Hytec Engineering and
Hytec Services Africa – all part of the Hytec Group of Companies
– will collaborate at bauma Africa to showcase the group as one of
Africa’s leaders in hydraulic sales, service and repairs.
Power Team, a specialist in hydraulic maintenance tools and
equipment, will present its full range of products including high
pressure hydraulic cylinders ranging from 2 to 1 220 ton capacities,
as well as a compatible range of hand, air and electric power packs
with accessories.
The group’s hydraulic fluid specialist, Hytec Fluid Technology
(HFT), will demonstrate Baldwin Filters’ range of heavy-duty air,
lube, fuel, coolant, transmission and hydraulic filtration products,
along with the Hy-Pro coalescence solution capable of removing
water contamination from diesel, oil, jet fuel and other liquids with
exceptional efficiency standards. The exhibition will also bring
into focus the company’s range of ASA Hydraulik fluid cooling
systems.
The group’s advanced refurbishment capabilities will be dem-
onstrated by Hytec and Hytec Engineering with displays of pumps,
motors and hydraulic cylinders. These two companies remain the
only accredited Bosch Rexroth Service Centres in Africa.
Hydraulic & Automation Warehouse (HAW) will further highlight
the benefits of top-engineered and cost-optimised products for
mobile hydraulic machines by showcasing its range of hydraulic
motors, valves (available in monoblock and segment designs) and
power steering units with various accessories.
For visitors coming from the rest of Africa, Hytec Services Africa
(HSA) will be available to discuss the group’s import and export
capabilities, as well as service and support capabilities throughout
Africa. This will be the first time HSA presents its most recent ex-
pansions into new African markets.
H
ytec companies to mount joint exhibit
among them the Caterpillar dealer for Southern Afri-
ca, Barloworld Equipment (although both Barloworld
SEM and Barloworld Power will be exhibiting), Kom-
atsu and Joy Global.
Trade shows are typically used as a springboard to
launch new products and bauma Africa will be no
exception, with a large number of exhibitors display-
ing machines which are new to the African market.
A prime example is
Bell Equipment
, which will be
showcasing its new ‘world first’ 60-t ADT (articulated
dump truck), the B60D. This is very much aimed at
the opencast mining sector and takes the company
into a market that was previously contested only by
rigid haulers.
The B60D has full articulation and oscillation
steering but differs from a traditional ADT in that it
has two driven axles, giving it 4x4 capability. With
a 60-tonne payload, the company believes it will be
able to move considerably more dirt than a regular
ADT, at a lower cost per tonne than comparative rigid
haulers. At the same time the truck offers much bet-
ter off-road capability than a rigid hauler and has the
ability to work in worse underfoot conditions to in-
crease days in production.
“We’re excited to be able to showcase our cutting-
edge products at a show of this magnitude on the
African continent,” comments Bell Equipment’s
Marketing Manager, Stephen Jones. “Apart from
our B60D, we will also be displaying our new B50D
Ejector as well as the E-series ADT and upgraded
Fleetm@tic fleet monitoring system, which were very
well received at bauma Germany earlier this year.”
Bell’s stand will be alongside that of its newest
partner,
Terex Finlay
. Bell was earlier this year grant-
ed distribution rights by Terex Finlay for the latter’s
mobile crushing, screening and recycling equipment
in South Africa.
Another company which will be exhibiting ADTs
(along with excavators and loaders) is
Doosan
, part
of Invicta Holdings. “The company, which launched
a new range of ADTs in South Africa earlier this year,
will have the new DA30 machine on display at bau-
ma,” says Rod Watson, MD, DISA Equipment (Pty)
Limited, trading as Doosan. “The launch of these
ADTs enables Doosan to offer a complete solution for
equipment required to excavate, load and transport
all types of materials, in any conditions.
“The new Doosan DA30 and DA40 ADTs, which
have been designed for safe and efficient operation
in tough conditions, have a higher load capacity than
previous models and offer enhanced power and per-
formance, easier operation, increased fuel efficiency,
greater driver comfort and faster travel speeds.”
Trucks, both ADTs and rigids, will also feature on
the stand of
HPE Africa
, the sole distributor of Hyun-
dai earthmoving equipment in Southern Africa. It
will be exhibiting and demonstrating the capabilities
of 14 Hyundai machines, as well as its range of Astra
