underscored by the presence at the
event of senior Normet representa-
tives from the company’s head of-
fice for operations in Switzerland.
The company has scored several
successes in its first year of opera-
tion in the region and recent orders
have included two Spraymec units
to Palabora, a Semmco sprayer to
Cullinan, a further one Spraymec
unit and two large Agicars which
will be used on the Venetia un-
derground project, as well as ma-
chines to NFC’s Chambishi mine
on the Zambian Copperbelt.
Because of the apparent popu-
larity of the concrete spraying
equipment, a Spraymec 1050 fitted
with a 480 bar face pressure wash-
er, and the recently launched Min-
imec, which was designed to work
in confined spaces, will occupy
dominant places on the Normet
stand.
A side attraction will be a train-
ing simulator for the Spraymec
1050 machine, a computerised
system that has the ability to increase operator ef-
ficiency by as much as 23 per cent in a classroom
environment. This eliminates the need to withdraw
equipment from the working environment in order
to train freshly recruited operators, or to increase the
skills of an existing operator contingent.
JLG access platforms and telehandlers will fea-
ture on Eazi Sales & Service’s outdoor stand.
New machines to be launched are the Toucan
12E boom lift, a new compact crawler and the
4014 and 4017 powershift telescopic handlers.
The JLG PS family of telehandlers is designed
to meet a wide variety of jobsite requirements.
JLG models 3706 and 3707 have a maximum
capacity of 3,7 tons with either 6,1 m or 7,3 m
maximum lift height. The two larger models
present at the show, the 4014 and 4017, are
equipped with stabilisers and have a lift capac-
ity of 4,0 tons and maximum lift heights of 14 m
and 17,3 m, respectively.
The new JLG Toucan 12E and the 12E+ are
the latest additions to the electric-driven range
of JLG vertical mast lifts known as the Toucan
series. The compact Toucan 12E model offers a
working height of 12 m with a horizontal out-
reach of 4,6 m, and accommodates two people
with both indoor and outdoor capability. The 12E
Plus offers a 12,7 m working height, but has an
additional outreach stretching as far as 5,55 m.
The Toucan 12E will be introduced at the show.
