Another scene from bauma 2013 in Munich. bauma Africa will also have outdoor exhibits.
ADTs and rigid dump trucks (RDTs) and jaw crushers
and screens from Canadian company McCloskey.
“The Astra range of ADTs and RDTs has developed
a reputation for being able to haul various loads at
African mining projects that are located in harsh ter-
rain, and subject to extreme temperatures. What’s
more, the McCloskey range of jaw crushers and
screens is internationally recognised for its quality
and reliability,” states Neil Sauls, GM of HPE Africa.
In the crushing and screening field, one of the big-
gest exhibitors will be
Pilot Crushtec
, whose stand
will be based entirely on new additions to its range.
Says the company’s Director Sales, Graham Kleyn-
hans: “We are very proud to be exhibiting the world
class Sandvik UJ540E which will be the biggest mo-
bile crusher ever displayed at a show in South Af-
rica. Together with this, the Rubble Master RM100
GO!, which is our Austrian supplier’s flagship mod-
el, will also be displayed, as well as the upgraded
specification of the Pilot Modular/TRIO MJ3042 jaw
crusher, now available with a pre-feeder pre-screen
which, for a minimal outlay, exerts a massive impact
on tonnages.”
Auxiliary products that Pilot Crushtec will have on
display will include two new TowerLight units. The
high illumination output VT 8000-FH 9 m has been
introduced to assist mine sites and quarries to work
around the clock while its sister product, the silent-
ly operating, low exhaust emission VT Hybrid LED,
provides a free-standing lighting facility, eminently
suitable for operation in environmentally sensitive
conditions.
Visitors to
ELB Equipment’s
stand will also be
treated to an array of new equipment. Among the new
models it will be exhibiting are the Terex TLB890
backhoe loader, the Mustang 2056 skid-steer loader,
the Telestack TS542 radial telescopic conveyor, the
Powerscreen XH320X impact crusher and the Warrior
800 mobile screen. The Dressta TD-25E extra crawler
dozer, introduced last year by ELB to South Africa,
will also be on display.
“As one of a few South African companies offer-
ing such a broad range of equipment and top brands,
we constantly track technological developments and
market trends worldwide to source products that are
suited to, or can be modified to suit, African condi-
tions, and will assist our client base in significantly
adding value and optimising the productivity of their
operations,” says Desmond van Heerden, Divisional
Director, ELB. “bauma Africa provides us with the
ideal platform from which to showcase these prod-
ucts, demonstrating our commitment to always stay-
ing ahead of the market in bringing the latest develop-
ments to our customer base.”
Addressing the field of rock reinforcement, Finn-
ish mining equipment manufacturer and construc-
tion chemicals supplier
Normet
will introduce a new
and highly innovative energy-absorbing rock bolt,
specially designed for reliable rock reinforcement in
both squeezing and burst-prone strata conditions.
Best-known for its concrete sprayers, scalers, lift-
ing and charging equipment, as well as underground
transport vehicles, Normet added the D-Bolt tech-
nology to its product line-up earlier this year when
it acquired Norwegian start-up Dynamic Rock Sup-
port (DRS), a company established in 2009 – with
the backing of venture capitalists and the Norwegian
University of Science and Technology (NTNU) – to
commercialise the D-Bolt.
Normet’s local operation was started just over a
year ago and the company will be using bauma to
establish itself as a reliable supplier of high quality
mining, tunnelling and ancillary equipment to the
African market. The importance the company attach-
