Innovative counter nut
with 360° shielding
A leading cable and accessories
manufacturer, Lapp Group, has
developed a unique design for all
styles and applications needing
EMC/earthing on entry says Mark
Dilchert, managing director at the
Lapp Group.
“The unique design of the Skintop
brush add-on allows the consumer
to use polyamide or metal glands
without having the concern of a cor-
rect earthing platform,” he explains.
“The Skintop brush add-on gives a
360° shielding of cables and mates
with the panel connection without
the worry of time, labour or making
up of earth leads.
“These can be used in both exist-
ing and new installations as it replac-
es the locknut on all metric thread
style glands. Coupling the with the
high quality Skintop ST-M polyamide
compression gland will not only give
the user a earthing solution, but also
provide IP68 protection with vibra-
tion due to the unique design of the
compression gland,” adds Dilchert.

LEGRAND’S CAB3 cable and
wire marking system saves
assembly time and provides
precise identification in any
electrification programme.
“The CAB 3 polyamide 6/6 ny-
lon colour-coded system is suit-
able for marking cross-sections
of cable and terminal blocks.
This system consists of coloured
markers (on which numbers have
been hot stamped for permanent
identification), label holders and
a re-usable applicator that facili-
tates fast distribution of markers,”
says Luk Ivens, general manager,
Legrand Southern Africa.
“The patented side-clipping
design ensures perfect align-
ment of markers, which are
lined up easily and hold their
positions securely.”
These markers are suitable for
cable cross sections of 0,15mm²
and 0,5mm²; 0, 5mm² and
1,5mm²; 1,5mm² and 2,5mm²;

No additional services
with new cable locator
COMTEST Distribution, accred-
ited southern African partner to
Amprobe Test Tools, has intro-
duced AT-2032E cable locator,
which covers all application areas
(live or de-energised), obviating
the need for additional devices.
The AT-2032E locates cables
in walls; interruptions and short
circuits in cables; fuses and
assignments to circuits; acci-
dentally concealed sockets and
distribution boxes; interruptions
and short circuits in unshielded
underfloor heating as well as
the tracing of metallic water
and heating pipes. It accurately
locates cables by displaying a
specified letter on the receiver.
The AT-2032E is shipped in a set
consisting of transmitter and
receiver in a robust, shock-proof
case. The transmitter signal is in-
dicated optically and acoustically.
A clear, easy-to-follow instruc-
tionmanual with application
and 4mm² to 6mm². Marker hold-
ers accommodate a cross-section
of cables from 10mm² to 70mm².
The CAB 3 system can be
applied at any time, even after
wiring. It is ideal for extensions or
modifications to cable marking
systems and is used extensively
as an accessory toViking high-
density terminal blocks.
These versatile terminal
blocks, which are simple to
install, ensure space and time
savings. They provide efficient
organisation, precise identifica-
tion, interconnection, safety
and simple servicing.
For user convenience, on-site
toolboxes andmarker dispensers
are also available.
This cable marking system,
whichmeets stringent qual-
ity and safety specifications, is
available from Legrand’s national
distributor network.
