will be showcasing their latest product launches for 2013 at
the KZN Industrial andTechnology Exhibition from 23 - 26 July, at
the Durban Exhibition Centre.
The new ISO 15552 standard cylinder DSBC will soon be manu-
factured locally at the Festo manufacturing facility in Isando, Johan-
nesburg. The cylinder comes standard with the Festo patented PPS
automatic cushioning system. With over 90% common parts to the
existing DNC range, DSBC will ensure better availability of parts and
the relevant accessories.
Also on display will be the DFPI pneumatic cylinder with integrated
positioner. Used pre-launch in mining applications, the cylinder has
proven to be robust and virtually maintenance free due to all the
components being housed inside the barrel. This makes the DFPI
the first choice for outdoor applications in corrosive environments.
From the electric portfolio of products, Festo
presents the small yet powerful CECC con-
troller. The CoDeSys’ embedded compact
controller is the first PLC with IO-Link master
and CoDeSys’ V3, from Festo. It reduces
installation time, simplifies programming
and enables fast and cost-effective control
of your machine or process.
The new electric drive EPCO, used in com-
bination with the stepper motor EMMS-ST,
forms part of the Festo Optimised Motion Series - a low-cost system
with optimised performance. This package makes positioning easier
than ever before and significantly less expensive than conventional
electric positioning systems.

has added the
machine-mountable remote display to
its industry-recognised line of iVu Vision
products. The machine-mountable remote
display enables users to view the iVu sensor
image remotely and serves as a constant
monitoring and user programming interface,
without interference from electrical noise.
The machine-mountable remote display
features industrious metal housing to shield
the display from electrical noise, while its
cabled connector provides a secure, depend-
able connection - further enhancing the
device's electrical noise immunity.
“Our goal was to create a remote display
for applications that require a permanent
connection to the sensor within electrically
noisy environments, and one that worked
with all Banner iVu sensors,” says DeanTyo,
chief engineer of Vision and M&I Products,
Banner Engineering. “From standard to plus
models, the machine-mountable remote
display is compatible with all Banner iVu
sensors for increased ease and flexibility on
the factory floor.”
The rugged, noise immune, stationary
remote display features an 89 mm (3,5 in),
diagonal, colour LCD flat-panel touch screen
display and an exceptionally wide viewing
angle - 60 degrees left and 60 degrees right;
50 degrees up, and 55 degrees down. Two
LEDs on the Remote Display provide feed-
back of the remote sensor operation - one
for Power/ Error, and the other indicating
inspection Pass/ Fail. It is available in five
cordset lengths, ordered separately; mount-
ing brackets and stylus is included with the
cordset kit.

’s new VPort 26A-1MP IP camera is the
world’s first dome-type extreme weather
HD IP camera designed to operate reliably in a
-40 to 75°C temperature range - without a fan or
heater. Designed for industrial applications, the
VPort 26A-1MP is armed with rugged features for
both day and night outdoor surveillance in harsh
environments, and delivers superior video perfor-
mance, DNR andWDR functions, and IP bandwidth
optimisation.
“In keeping with Moxa’s emphasis on industrial
reliability, the VPort 26-1MP is part of Moxa’s new
generation of extreme weather IP cameras designed to operate in
a -40 to 75°C temperature range, without a fan or heater, making
the VPort 26-1MP suitable for both blistering hot deserts and sub-
zero snow covered environments. TheVPort 26A-1MP’s robust IP66
standard metal housing and EN 62262 IK10 vandal-proof dome cover
provide exceptional weatherproofing and protec-
tion, and the camera’s dehumidifying membrane
keeps moisture out. In addition, the VPort 26-1MP
is EN 50121-4 compliant, making it well suited for
demanding railway, public safety, and high humid-
ity applications, including tunnels, and offshore
and heavy duty industries”, says Martin Jenkner,
business development manager Video Surveil-
lance at Moxa.
In addition to industrial-grade reliability, the
VPort 26-1MP provides sharp surveillance images,
even in poor lighting conditions, and delivers 1280
x 720 HD resolution at 30 FPS simultaneously over three video streams
(2 x H.264 plus 1 x MJPEG). Its vari-focal megapixel lens offers a 3 - 9
mm focal length for exceptional quality and zoom, and the removable
IR cut filter ensures that images can be captured both day and night.
