A new collaboration is emerging between the mining, automotive and electronics sectors.

African Mining Indaba is launching a new Mining Automotives Electronics Club this year

African Mining Indaba is launching a new Mining Automotives & Electronics Club this year.

Downstream electronics players are actively investing in new and existing critical minerals mining projects through off-take agreements – to ensure a stable mineral supply for electric vehicles and components production and manufacturing needs. They are also prioritising responsible sourcing of minerals to meet regulatory requirements that aim to establish a transparent and user-friendly supply chain.

Based on these observations and acknowledging this developing new relationship with the mining industry – and especially in Africa where there are still so many untapped opportunities – the Investing in African Mining Indaba is launching a new Mining Automotives & Electronics Club in 2024.

The Investing in African Mining Indaba takes place this year from 5 to 8 February at the Cape Town International Convention Centre.

The launch of the club represents the start of a new venture, bringing together companies from the automotive and electronics sectors participating in Mining Indaba 2024. The goal is to establish valuable business relationships and deals within the global downstream market. Involving key stakeholders, the association will collaborate at the event and throughout the year to create new business opportunities. It aims to enable the sectors to achieve their business objectives through active engagement.
