African Fusion March 2020 Cover

Our first issue of African Fusion for 2020 has Gammatec on the cover with its new SciAps range of PMI analysers. In the associated story, Lyndon Momberg compares traditional OES technology to the modern handheld LIBS analysers, most notably for use in carbon analysis for steels and stainless steels.

In the SAIW news section, John Tarboton and Etienne Nell talk about their vision for a renewed SAIW with members at its centre, while the Member profile is of Stanley Inspection SA, which Shaun Meerholz describes as a blue ocean NDT and inspection service provider.

The technical paper describes two possible applications of arc-welding-based additive manufacturing in automotive engineering; and we include welding industry articles from Argon Arc Welding, ESAB South Africa, Fronius, First Cut, Afrox with its Miller XMT 350 FieldPro, Renttech South Africa, Böhler Welding, Lincoln Electric and BMG.
