This position reports to: Head Design Engineer (Electronics)
We are seeking a high performing Electronics Engineer to design embedded electronics in CBi-electric’s multidisciplinary R&D department.
You will be involved in end-to-end engineering design process, including concept development, design, simulation, assembly, coding, integration, and testing of electronic assemblies, systems, or embedded software. The role, responsibilities and remuneration will be adapted to the candidate’s experience and individual strengths. Key Responsibilities:
- Design, prototype, and implement mixed-signal embedded electronics for CBi-electric products and equipment for manufacturing processes. Such as smart breakers and smart meter, IoT control, big data capture and data analysis and signal processing.
- Perform simulations and analyses to validate designs and participate in design reviews.
- Conduct testing of prototypes and final products to ensure compliance with specifications, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Prepare documentation, including design specifications, bill of materials, test reports, and instructions.
- Perform research investigations for quality improvements and implement corrective actions.
- Acquire and apply an understanding of the relevant product standards to which CBi products are certified.
- Manage project timelines and deliverables, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
- Coordinate with internal and external role players (e.g. Quality Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Process Engineering, Project Management, Certification, Tool Design, Procurement, Suppliers, Sales, Export) to support innovation, design, and manufacturing.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electronic/Electrical(light current) Engineering (BEng, BSc(Eng) at NQF Level 8)
- Demonstrated competency and passion in Electronics Design
Advantageous:
- Master’s Degree in Engineering
- 3-10 years of relevant experience
- Experience in IoT, networks, power electronics, power systems, or software development
- Proven ability to manage projects independently
