Intercape is ready to welcome the festive season with its upgraded and expanded luxury coach services. On November 9, the company showcased its Big Sky Intercity and Tourliner services, along with the latest additions to its luxury fleet, at an event in Sandton.

Intercape launches a new fleet for the festive season

Big Sky Coaches, a branch of the Intercape group, operates the Big Sky Intercity service throughout South Africa. Shaun Smeda, the Chief Commercial Officer, highlighted that the expansion allows the company to offer high-quality travel services to more communities nationwide. The service boasts 30 luxury coaches covering over 150 destinations, including major cities like Durban, Johannesburg, and Cape Town.

Intercape, which already has a strong presence with over 230 coaches serving 150 routes from 36 sales offices across southern Africa, has further strengthened its fleet with 46 new luxury coaches. CEO Johann Ferreira underscored this enhancement as a step to increase the company's reach and service quality for its customers.

The Intercape fleet features various service levels, including the Sleepliner, with 150° reclining seats for overnight comfort, the Mainliner, which is the backbone of their services across major cities and towns, and the Budgetliner, offering a more affordable travel option without onboard restroom facilities.

With the integration of Big Sky Intercity and the Tourliner luxury charter services, Intercape now provides a comprehensive transport solution to accommodate all passenger needs, operating a total of 280 coaches. Ferreira emphasized the company's commitment to offering safe, reliable, and affordable coach travel, with modern vehicles equipped with the latest technology and stringent safety protocols.
