JA Engineering recently hosted a diverse group of their mining customers and key stakeholders for their inaugural Open Day.

JAE launched the first of its kind customised Utility Vehicle in Africa

This is a day for the mining industry and experts to share knowledge, experience cutting edge trends in mining equipment and to enjoy a showcase of some of the most game-changing range of mining equipment that will shift the dial on Africa’s mining safety standards.

“This is an exciting day for JAE and for our clients as it comes off the back of our recent announcement that we have partnered with the leading global mining solutions provider FERRIT to advance product innovation. We will engage the industry in how we manufacture and bring cutting-edge solutions to SA that will ensure that they continue to run their operations efficiently and safely.  Said Matimba Mahange CEO of JAE.”

The highlight on the day was the unveiling of the new first of its kind in Africa, Utility vehicle (DVU) designed for the most challenging mining conditions and has capacity to move 15 passengers safely. This is a game changer in a country where the safety of workers on mining sites remains a pain point for regulators, mining companies and unions alike. The new DVU from JAE, has been made possible by their partnership with Ferrit, from the Czech Republic. The impressive beast of a vehicle is designed for transporting people and materials over long distances and rough terrain can replace the traditional transport systems, such as bakkies, on mining sites and can be accessorised to allow the movement of up to 15 personnel as well as lubricants and other materials that need to be transported underground.

“Attendees at the Open day can expect to get the full JAE experience as we also showcase a range of other innovative products that promote sustainable and safe mining. We look forward to welcoming our customers, experts, peers and key stakeholders in the mining industry,” Concluded Mr Mahange.

For three decades, JAE Engineering has been serving Africa’s mining industry with distinction and the business aims to continue to drive the future of mining technology in Africa and beyond through innovation.
