Consulting Engineers South Africa (CESA) is proud to announce that its School of Consulting Engineering (SCE), has successfully obtained a Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment (B-BBEE) Level 2 certification. This achievement reflects the organisation's commitment to promoting economic transformation and inclusivity in South Africa.
“Given our focus on promoting professionalism and quality in the built environment, it is also our aim to enhance economic inclusivity and transformation. Our advocacy for collaboration and good governance practices aligns with the broader goals of B-BBEE, which seeks to address historical economic imbalances,” notes CESA CEO Chris Campbell.
Achieving a B-BBEE Level 2 certification is a significant milestone for the SCE, he adds, noting that it underscores the organisation's dedication to contributing to South Africa's economic transformation.
“By offering comprehensive training programmes that enhance technical competencies and equips young engineers with essential management and entrepreneurial skills, our graduates are well-rounded and prepared to excel in the consulting engineering industry,” adds Campbell.
This achievement aligns with CESA's broader mission to drive sustainable transformation and maintain high standards of professionalism and quality management within the consulting engineering industry. By embracing B-BBEE principles, the SCE reinforces its commitment to excellence and its role as a leader in promoting economic empowerment and social responsibility.
Companies that register their employees for SCE courses can now also enjoy a substantial advantage in meeting their B-BBEE procurement targets. For every rand invested in CESA SCE training, R1.25 is recognised towards a company’s B-BBEE procurement scorecard.
This enhanced recognition strengthens compliance and assists firms in achieving or exceeding their own B-BBEE objectives. The benefit is particularly valuable for organisations in the consulting engineering sector, where B-BBEE compliance is a critical business requirement.
"We are proud of this achievement, which reflects our commitment to South Africa's economic development goals," says Campbell. "This certification not only enhances our business prospects but also underscores our dedication to fostering a more inclusive and equitable society."
