Technicrete, part of Infrastructure Specialists Group (ISG), recently supplied kerbs and pavers to Phinqoshe Holdings for the development of a new chicken throughput abattoir for Nkanyezi Farming in Elukwatini, Mpumalanga. The abattoir will enable the smaller farmer a more economical opportunity to participate in the poultry supply chain.
One thousand two hundred square meters of Double Zig Zag (DZZ) 80 mm grey pavers were supplied by Technicrete to the project. Keegan Prince, Sales Consultant for Technicrete Nelspruit commented that the DZZ pavers are particularly suitable for surfaces such as abattoirs due to the heavy foot traffic and need for sturdiness, and that depots and commercial premises can also benefit from the DZZs interlocking design as it forms a continuous and hard wearing surface overlay and is an economical choice. Three hundred and ninety-nine Figure 7 kerbs were also supplied to the project.
Site Manager from Phinqoshe Holdings, Confree Malumane, commented “When sourcing paving and kerbs for a project that will be accommodating a steady flow of farmers and their transported livestock, it is important that the product offers longevity in addition to a pleasing finish.
