Fluke, a global technology leader in the manufacture of compact, professional electronic test and measurement tools and software and locally represented by Comtest, has introduced the Fluke 1535 and 1537 2 500 V Insulation Resistance Testers. The testers are engineered to simplify frontline troubleshooting, on the factory floor or in the field at a solar installation.

The high voltage insulation testers are designed for use by technicians doing maintenance work on field equipment

The high-voltage insulation testers are designed for use by technicians doing maintenance work on field equipment.

With user-selectable test voltages from 250 V to 2 500 V and resistance measurements up to 500 GΩ, the testers allow for coverage of a larger workload with a single tool.

They are equipped with an intuitive user interface, a short circuit current of up to 5 mA and a CAT IV 600 V rating. They are portable and deliver rapid and stable resistance measurements wherever they are used. The 1537 Insulation Resistance Tester also allows for the storage of measurements for later review or PC transfer using the software provided.

The high-voltage insulation testers are specifically designed for frontline technicians, electricians, and contractors undertaking asset maintenance work on field equipment such as motors, transformers, and power cabinets where testing up to 2 500 voltage is required. The Fluke 1535 and 1537 2 500 V Insulation Resistance Testers give technicians and maintenance engineers the benefits of wider workload coverage and faster measurement.

Key features

  • Selectable voltage tests: Tailor tests with user-selectable voltages of 250 V, 500 V, 1 000 V, and 2 500 V to cover industrial and solar applications.
  • Extended insulation resistance measurement: Reach up to 500 GΩ in insulation resistance measurement for a thorough analysis.
  • Intelligent calculations: Automatically calculate the Polarisation Index (PI) and Dielectric Absorption Ratio (DAR), minimising the influence of environmental factors.
  • High measurement capacity: The testers can execute up to 1 300 measurements at 2 500 V or 6 500 at 250 V, supporting productivity.
  • Enhanced safety features: The CAT IV 600 V rating and a built-in voltage alarm function provide for heightened safety in use.

The Fluke 1537 has several additional features.

  • Extended measurements: The Fluke 1537 enhances testing capabilities with ac/dc voltage and resistance measurements.
  • Stable resistance measurements: With a short circuit current of up to 5 mA, faster, more stable insulation resistance measurements can be achieved.
  • Fine-tunable test voltage: The test voltage can be adjusted from 250 V to 2 500 V in 100 V increments to meet specific testing requirements.
  • Dielectric discharge rate calculation: The device can calculate the dielectric discharge rate (DD) automatically, to aid in identifying elusive insulation issues.
  • Ramp test mode: The applied test voltage can be increased linearly to 100 V/s to help identify otherwise difficult-to-identify fault conditions.
  • Visual and audio continuity indicator: Continuity can be verified visually on the screen display or with the audible indicator which allows users to focus on the testing procedure without looking at the display.
  • Customisable testing parameters: User-defined labels, adjusting test duration, and storage of measurement results can all be customised to suit the user’s preferences.
  • Easy data management: Data can be downloaded and managed using with the PC software provided.
  • Extended warranty: The Fluke 1537 is supplied with a three-year warranty.
