The Southern African Energy Efficiency Confederation (SAEEC) has announced the newly elected and re-elected members of the SAEEC Board for the 2025-2026 term of office.

The newly elected President, Sashay Ramdharee is a Senior Tax Manager at Deloitte Global Investment and Innovation Incentives (Gi3) practice which provides clients with a broad range of services related to government tax and other business incentives across more than 150 countries and regions worldwide. Ramdharee advises clients on Energy Efficiency Tax Allowances, Carbon Tax, and Carbon Offsets. This includes technical work such as the quantification, modelling and assessment of clients’ energy use and GHG emissions, with careful application of Greenhouse Gas Reporting regulations, Carbon Tax, Carbon Offsets, and the various energy efficiency incentives available, calculating how each of these mechanisms might impact the clients and their businesses.

Based in Tshwane, Gauteng, Ramdharee is also President of the ESCO Association of South Africa (EASA).

He has previously worked with Catalyst Solutions as a Divisional Manager: Energy; the National Cleaner Production Centre (NCPC) at the CSIR, as a Project Manager for Energy Systems Optimisation; and at Sasol as a Process Technologist.

He has a Master’s Degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Johannesburg, a Bachelor of Technology Degree in Chemical Engineering, for which he graduated cum laude, from the Durban Institute of Technology

He is additionally, a Certified Energy Manager (CEM), he has completed a Project Management Professional qualification with the Project Management Institute of America (PMP) and is registered with ECSA. He is also active as a member of several industry associations such as SANEA, PMP, ECSA, WEC, AEE, SABS/TC 301 and the SAEEC.
