Africa Automation Indaba is set to take place 13 and 14 May 2026 at the Radisson Collection Hotel, Waterfront, Cape Town.

Africa Automation Indaba will provide a forum for speakers and delegates to explore the technologies shaping Africa’s industrial future.

The event will bring together some of Africa’s leading minds in automation and industrial digitalisation and provide a discussion forum for senior industry leaders, engineers, policymakers and technology innovators who are shaping the next phase of Africa’s industrial transformation. Over two days, the indaba will create a space for dialogue, for strategic connections and for sharing practical insights into the technologies redefining modern industry.

The programme will explore key developments in automation, process control, smart manufacturing and AI-driven operations. Speakers and delegates will represent organisations at the forefront of industrial innovation across the continent.

Africa Automation Indaba is a key meeting point for decision makers looking to stay ahead of technological change and position their organisations for the future of industry.

Some of the confirmed speakers for this year’s indaba are noted below.

Alderman James Vos, Mayoral Committee Member for Economic Growth at the City of Cape Town will deliver the official welcome and opening remarks on behalf of the South African Government at the Africa Automation Indaba 2026.

Dr Devon Hagedorn-Hansen, Managing Director, AMT3D, will focus on Bridging Africa’s Automation Skills Gap: addressing workforce readiness, advanced manufacturing capabilities and the critical competencies required to accelerate Industry 4.0 adoption across African industries.

Professor Horman Chitonge, Professor of Development Studies and Economic Policy Expert at the University of Cape Town will look at High-Growth Sectors for Automation. He will share a strategic analysis of where automation investment can unlock productivity, strengthen industrial policy and drive inclusive economic transformation in Africa.

Arthur Goldstuck, Founder and CEO, World Wide Worx will focus on AI and Automation Readiness in Africa. He will present a data-driven perspective on digital transformation, the adoption of artificial intelligence and the continent’s competitiveness in the global tech economy.

Lerato Ditshego, Chief Executive Officer of Ditshego Media, will be the Programme Director & Strategic Facilitator for the indaba, guiding the conversations, connecting industry leaders and shaping a cohesive dialogue on Africa’s digital industrial future.
