Those working in the off-grid solar space now have a powerful comparison tool at their fingertips. Set up by CLASP, an international nonprofit organisation, the VeraSol Product Database is a free, searchable online platform featuring trusted performance data on hundreds of solar energy kits and independently tested off-grid appliances. The database allows users to easily find and compare products and identify high-quality technologies with confidence.

On the certified side, the database lists solar energy kits that have been proven to meet the international IEC TS 62257-9-8 quality standard through testing at ISO 17025-accredited laboratories. Beyond certified kits, the platform also hosts test data for a growing range of off-grid appliances and equipment, including fans, televisions, refrigerators, electric pressure cookers, solar water pumps, egg incubators, and walk-in cold rooms, all tested to applicable Global LEAP or Rapid Product Assessment methods.
Users can sort and filter by criteria such as brand, size, power consumption, location, and retail price, and download spreadsheets for their own analysis. Quality inspection ratings on individual product pages flag potential concerns, helping buyers make informed procurement decisions.
The database is free to access with a registered account at verasol.org/database
