African Fusion July 2020 Cover

This midyear issue of African Fusion puts ESAB on the front cover, with Eugene van Dyk of ESAB South Africa introducing the company’s latest ‘cutting marvel’, the Cutmaster® 60i, air plasma cutting machine.

The SAIW news section of the magazine introduces the Institute’s new Webinar series and Business Development Manager, Etienne Nell, champions SAIW’s new work‐based QCTO-accredited welding apprenticeship programme.

This month’s technical paper is about using thermal spray coating processes to line concrete drinking water storage tanks, while we include welding industry articles from Air Liquide; Lesedi; Zetec and Gammatec; Air Products; Kemper; Afrox; and First Cut.

This issue’s technology story highlights the use of modern IIoT concepts to NDT data collection and analysis. It is by Grant Meredith, who now works in Australia for the asset integrity services company, Applus+.
