New Vineyard Enterprises is hosting a comprehensive online training course on Medium-voltage/ Low-voltage (MV/ LV) Electrical Reticulation on February 13-14, 2025. The two-day intensive workshop, accredited by The Institution of Certificated Mechanical and Electrical Engineers, South Africa (ICMEESA), offers attendees two CPD points upon completion.

Earn CPD points with upcoming online electrical reticulation training

As companies, industries, and municipalities face growing pressure to keep pace with technological advances in MV/ LV reticulation, the need for specialised technical expertise has never been greater. The upcoming course addresses this demand by covering crucial aspects of electrical reticulation, including equipment selection, cable sizing, fault level calculations, earthing design, and protection schemes.

Based on SANS and IEEE standards, the workshop will feature detailed discussions and real-life examples of design, installation, and upgrading of MV/ LV electrical reticulation systems. Participants will learn about various reticulation methods, including SWER-phase, phase-to-phase systems, single-phase, and dual-phase systems, which have emerged as cost-effective solutions for different environments.

The training programme aims to equip participants with essential knowledge in state-of-the-art MV/ LV reticulation planning, design tools, installation, and maintenance. Key learning outcomes include performing fault level calculations, understanding protection schemes for various system components, applying effective and ineffective earthing techniques, and implementing appropriate power reticulation design within buildings.

The course is particularly relevant for electrical engineers, technicians, technologists, reticulation supervisors, distribution system planners, maintenance managers, power system consultants, building planners/ managers, and electrical contractors.

Structured across seven modules, the workshop emphasises the importance of proper system design in maximising return on investment while considering both capital and maintenance costs.
