The emergency backup fittings will burn at 70% of full capacity for a period of three hours when power supply to the fitting has been switched off. The fittings come complete with a rechargeable battery that charges while the power supply is connected. The integrated backup battery will take 24 hours to fully recharge.
Spazio Lighting has introduced the ‘Only CTC’ (colour temperature changing) emergency backup bulkhead as well as recessed and surface mounted downlights that can be used in any commercial or domestic application.
Power outages, whether caused by grid failure or other factors such as natural disasters, will result in people possibly being forced to navigate out of a completely dark area and find their way to safety. They can even lead to evacuation procedures being put in place. In situations like these, people will rely on illuminated Emergency Exit signs strategically placed in a building.
