BMG’s new Rexnord/Falk product range -
which encompasses industrial gear units,
low-speed backstops, couplings, bearings
and chain conveying solutions - is designed
to minimise ownership costs and maxim-
ise the productivity of capital equipment
investments.

range together and made these products
available fromone supplier, for the first time.
BMG has introduced recently launched
off-the-shelf Rexnord/Falk products to the lo-
cal market.The benefit of newmaterials and
the latest design concepts ensure efficient
operation in harsh operating conditions,
that previously affected reliability and pro-
ductivity.” Engineers at Falk have assessed
operating conditions around the world and
studied the critical issues that negatively
affect the reliability of equipment.

Frequently, and especially in the mining industry, there is a need to
rate one starter for the highest kWmotor that will be connected to it
and to use the same starter for a variety of smaller motors. Gating
box applications are an example. The problem is that the overload
protection settings for the respective motors also need adjustment
if the smaller motors are to benefit from protection. The difficulty
is compounded when faced with flameproof enclosures due to the
time required to open the compartment door.

protection relay range combined with the programmable RDU 216
is the solution. The latter device is able
to store up to eight popular settings for
different kW motors.The varied settings
are then able to be downloaded to the
MA protection relay at a touch of a couple
of buttons.These are accessed through the flameproof door that is
frequently fitted with a ‘window’ in order to see the RDU 216 MMI.
