The March issue of Construction World features KwaZulu-Natal based company, Tugela Steel on the cover.

It is expanding its niche in South Africa, as well as internationally into Africa and further afield for portal frame clear span steel buildings, deploying a fleet of Cat telehandlers at its Colenso production facility to meet materials handling demands.

With their head office based in La Lucia Ridge, Durban, and the factory based in Colenso, Tugela Steel is a market leader in this specialised field, with a project track record that celebrates 30 years in business in 2014, with around 350 orders currently secured annually.

The issue focuses on three major projects: Noblesfontein Wind Energy Facility, the Tweefontein Optimisation project and the iconic Fairscape precinct.

The Noblesfontein project is located close to Victoria West, in the Northern Cape Province, and consists of a total of 41 Vestas wind turbine generators with a power output of 1,8 MW each (73 MW).The Tweefontein Optimisation Projectis located 25 kilometres south of Witbank, Mpumalanga and is an optimisation of existing coal operations and reserves within the Tweefontein Complex while the Fairscape Precinct consists of an iconic 15 storey tower building and two four storey buildings on a podium slab and three levels of basement in Gaborone, Botswana.
