The Generation Schools Imhoff in Kommetjie, Western Cape, has installed an energy-saving LED lighting solution for its swimming pool and sports field. Generation Schools Imhoff opened its doors to students in January 2019. The school needed a lighting solution for its newly built swimming pool and sports field and BEKA Schréder was chosen for its energy-saving LED lighting solution, which offered very good light levels.
Swimming pool
The swimming pool is illuminated with BEKA Schréder’s OMNIstarmidi 216 W. Its IP 66 ingress protection makes it perfectly suited for this damp environment. The OMNIstar-midi was designed and manufactured in South Africa, and boasts a long lifetime with low maintenance requirements, and no lamp replacement for more than 10 years. Various optical solutions are available to achieve the highest energy savings and the most economical lighting solution
Sports field
The multi-purpose sports field for rugby, cricket, soccer and hockey is illuminated with the OMNIblast2-E 990 W. The OMNIblast-E is ideal for sports venues and other large area applications that require a lighting solution with the highest efficiency and flexibility to adapt to the different lighting needs. Available in three sizes, this LED solution offers an alternative with proven benefits for traditional fixtures fitted with 600 W to 2000 W HID lamps. A modular concept of optical units means that 1, 2 or 3 modules can be mounted on a similar bracket arrangement to offer the utmost versatility, providing light distribution and lumen packages perfectly adapted to the specifications of the area to be lit. The OMNIblast-E incorporates a patented cooling technology that maximises its lifespan and lumen output.
