Lighting in Design - page 36

A new dimension of light
Light management is much more than simply the use of mo-
tion sensors. It is the optimal connection of user interfaces,
control units, daylight- and motion sensors and electronic
control gears.
Rising energy costs demand efficient lighting solutions.
Stricter directives, such as the EPBD (Energy Performance
of Buildings Directive) can be observed more effectively with
application oriented control systems. Light management from
Osram allows all of this through the use of intelligent sensors.
Professional light management gives lighting designers the
option of installing stimulating illumination that saves energy
while enhancing the shopping experience. Or it enables the
creation of different light moods that ensure patrons of a
restaurant feel at home. It allows users to create tailor-made,
energy efficient and innovative lighting concepts – from single
room to integrated building solutions.
Light does not only make things bright. It can turns a room
into an experience and accentuate and reinterpret the archi-
tecture. In shops, light can make a product a star. In hotels, it
supports the first impression, creates a pleasant atmosphere
and provides orientation. Museums require flexibility in order
to achieve the right lighting scenario for each new exhibition.
And for the planning of a restaurant it is important to be able
to offer different lighting concepts in a single room – from a
restrained dining ambience to a stimulating party atmosphere.
With its light management systems and tailor-made light-
ing solutions, Osram is able to light every room and set each
scene perfectly and the EASY Color Control system, with up
to 64 channels, enables direct control of a variety of luminaires
– from small to large applications.
